Christine | Beauty / Fitness Photography

Christine | Beauty / Fitness Photography

Wow this lady is a powerhouse! Christine came in to get some photo’s of her fit body while it was in great condition before comp.

What we decided to do was some softer beauty, and then some more fitness orientated shots.  Using different light positions, we can either soften or accentuate – so we used low contrast soft reflected light for the lingerie shots and a more contrasty light when we wanted to show of the contours of her muscle – especially those abs!

Like most ladies, Christine was a little nervous for this shoot.  It is a massive thing to open yourself up to being photographed in this way – but I have never had a client that regretted it.   You are amazing Christine and really inspiring!!

Jayson and Kym | Love Story

Jayson Loves Kym

Next weekend, Sam and I will be heading out Mt Larcom way to photograph Jayson and Kym on their property, where they will be holding their country wedding.  Here is their love story:

Jayson loves Kym’s independence.  The thing that Kym loves most about Jayson is how caring and kind he is.  “He has a beautiful heart” {Kym}

The proposal took place, July 2013 at Paradise Lagoons Campdraft, in front of 7000 people and on a big screen.  Australian Country life took their photograph and their story was published in the next paper run.  For Jayson, in the moment, he had many thoughts.  “I just didn’t want to stuff up. I was pretty nervous. I knew Kym was going to say yes because she designed the ring. The week before Kym had hinted about having the first ever proposal at Paradise. So I went with it.” {Jayson}

“Jayson was acting weird, so I knew something was going on.  When he lead me onto the centre stage, I knew exactly what was going on. So I was very excited and happy. We had heaps of people congratulate us and give us hugs. ” {Kym}

They both knew it was meant to be.  Jayson knew it was love when Kym first shot the 4-10 and hit the clay target.  Kym knew when Jayson said her horse was beautiful.

As a couple, they would like to travel and spend more time at shows with the horses.  They both smile most, dancing in the kitchen, with no music playing. The thing that makes them strong together is they are opposites. They help each other where the other isnt so strong.  They are complementary.

“Kym leaves me love notes when she goes to work” {Jayson}

“Every morning Jayson wakes me up a hundred times to say I love you.” {Kym}

Like every couple, there has to be something that pushes the other ones button.  Jayson says “She drives the longest possible way to go not very far. I think she needs a navigator in her car all the time set to shortest distance.”

Kym says “I love spending money. Jayson likes to save it. So that pushes Jaysons buttons”

For their wedding, all they hope for is to have fun and that everything go’s off without too many hiccups.

Mr + Mrs Graving | Josh and Jenna’s I DOs

May Seventeenth, Twenty Fourteen

Jenna and Josh’s wedding day arrived.  The sun was shining and it was set to be a beautiful day.  Josh started the day feeling calm and ready to stand at the altar and marry his bride to be.

Jenna got dressed out in the sunshine, drinking a glass of champagne, while her bridesmaids and her Mum helped with all the finishing touches.  At that moment, it started to hit Jenna, that it was really happening.  “The palms started getting cold and sweaty and nerves came through” {Jenna}

Jenna had a strict schedule for the day, so Josh was very happy to see when she arrived on time to ceremony at the Rockhampton Heritage village.  As he stood on the verandah, Jenna came from behind the buildings and headed toward Josh.  All he could think as she came towards him was  “Holy shit – she looks beautiful. Don’t cry, don’t cry. I couldn’t look at Jenna’s mum Mandy or I was going to burst into tears, as she had the water works on before the music even started.” {Josh}

Meanwhile, Jenna walked toward toward Josh and their guests, with her Dad by her side.  She was too scared to look up.  Jenna was sure she was going to make a tremendous grand entrance that involved falling over and also, she knew everyone was looking at her.  “All I could think was breathe! It’s okay” {Jenna}

Jenna approached the verandah where she would marry Josh. “The best part of my day was Josh taking me from Dad and standing on the verandah. At that point it was like a big weight had been lifted from my shoulders.. And everything was perfect” {Jenna}

When celebrant Deb Edwards-Brown pronounced the couple as  “Mr and Mrs Joshua Graving”  it all felt real for Jenna.  That was a moment during the day that was incredibly special to her.

After the ceremony, there was plenty of hugs, tears and congratulations being shared around between the couple and their guests.  Jenna and Josh were fully basking in the moment and were moved by the support from those they love.  “When I saw everyone crying – Mum, Bryan (Josh’s dad), Josh.. Especially my grandma.. She doesn’t tend to show a lot of emotion. The amount of people that came to help us celebrate and support us through the whole thing was amazing, absolutely amazing” {Jenna}

After some portraits, the couple made their way back to their guests, where they shared an extraordinary night celebrating their marriage.

Looking back at the day now, Josh’s favourite time was the ceremony.  “The relief that it was finally done. And the photos – because it was fun!” {Josh}

Jenna on calling Josh her husband   “I had to drop something off the other day and used my new name of Jenna Graving – well sort of!  I started saying McGree .. And remembered after the Mc that my name had changed.. So I dare say for a while it will be McGravy. Haha :) I don’t think I’ll ever get used to calling josh MY husband.”

Jenna and Josh are off on their honeymoon to Thailand as we speak, but their future is something they are looking forwards to.  “Eventually we want to start a family, and have baby McGravys running around the house!” {Josh}

For Josh, being a good husband means “being loyal, supportive, loving, being fed well. Haha”

Thanks Jenna and Josh for inviting us to document this most amazing day for you – enjoy your honeymoon xo

Danielle and Guy | Country Romance

May Tenth, Twenty-Fourteen

Danielle and Guy’s wedding day was finally upon them!   For the Groom, Guy, he felt relaxed and ready to start the rest of his life with his soul mate.  Until he got the Chapple!

Danielle and Guy are expecting the arrival of their beautiful baby soon and as Danielle put her dress on that morning,  “I felt extremely relieved that the dress of my dreams still fit even with our little princess growing inside. All my worries and stress disappeared and I felt truly beautiful which is exactly how I wanted to feel.” {Danielle}

And Danielle did look completely beautiful. As she walked towards guy, down the aisle of the chapel at Cedar Galleries,  he thought, “She looked beautiful and I felt relieved that the moment had come after waiting very nervously.” {Guy}

“I think the rest of the world disappeared [when I was walking toward Guy].   I don’t remember the music or our family and friends. I was just unbelievably happy and excited.” {Danielle}

Standing at the alter with Guy, finally staring into each others very watery eyes, was one of Danielle’s favourite parts of the wedding.

Kissing his wife, Danielle, for the first time, was a moment for Guy, he won’t ever forget.  His favourite moment all day.

After the ceremony, thoughtfully performed by Judy Whicker, Danielle was elated to be able to call Guy her husband.  She could finally relax after all the hard work and planning came together.

“Anytime, Guy, family or friends would look at me for too long with the “awww” look in their eyes, they were the moments that took my breathe away.” {Danielle} “A lot of deep breaths were taken during the day to keep it all together”

Looking ahead to their future,  Guy can’t wait to start out life with Danielle and welcome their first child into the world in August.  “I will always be there for Danielle, listening to her and supporting her through everything.” {Guy}

Jenna and Josh | Love in the Rain

Jenna and Josh | Love Story

Jenna and Josh have been together since they met at a local pub through mutual friends.  They started seeing each other in January of 2011 and by December of that year, Josh asked Jenna to marry him.

Josh took Jenna to Canoe Point one afternoon for a picnic, except Jenna laughs “His idea of a picnic was subway ha”

The weather that day was terrible, it was really windy, the sand kept whipping them and all Jenna wanted to do was go home.    Josh insisted they stay a little longer and thats when Jenna knew something was up.  He began to tell her “Jenna you know how much I love you..”  Jenna started freaking out and kept interrupting him.  Josh told her to listen and then he popped the big question!

“I honestly didn’t think he was serious at first!  But I said Yes eventually!” ~ Jenna

Jenna is loved by Josh because of her loving and playful personality.  Jenna loves Josh because he is caring.  He takes her side no matter what, he is always there for her and loves her for who she is.  “He’s amazing” ~ Jenna

The day we scheduled for the e-shoot was much like the weather the day Josh proposed!  It rained during the entire session.  At the end of the day, the sun came through underneath the thick blanket of cloud.

Jenna and Josh will marry this weekend in Rockhampton.

Sarah and Vic | The Wedding

April Twenty-Sixth, Twenty Fourteen

Sarah and Vic’s wedding date, fell seven years to the day since they got together. They planned a country wedding, shared with those nearest and dearest to them.

Vic woke on the morning of the big day, feeling excited.  He had no nerves, he was completely calm.

“Sitting in the hairdressers that morning, finally realising that today we would start the day as best friends and end as husband and wife was so surreal. I loved seeing everyone looking so amazing and seeing it all come together after so much planning, it was just the way we both hoped it would be. ” ~ Sarah

Sarah was very calm also on our arrival.  She was an organised bride and you could tell of her excitement from the moment we saw her that day.  As Sarah put on her dress, her smile just got bigger.   “I LOVED the dress, I felt like a beautiful princess and in that moment I finally realised today was the day that I would marry the man of my dreams and father to my girls….was hard to keep my emotions in.” ~ Sarah

Some special traditions were carried out, Sarah wore a necklace that Vic’s grandfather bought for his grandmother on their wedding day and since,  every McDonald woman has worn this on their day.

Sarah arrived at Cedar Galleries, ready to walk down the aisle. This was Sarah’s most favourite part of the day.  “Walking down the aisle seeing all of our friends and family, our beautiful daughters, flower girls, best friends (maid of honour and groomsmen) and of course then that first glance to my new husband to be,  I had to look away so I didn’t cry.  I couldn’t believe it was all happening, finally!  He looked so handsome and I couldn’t wait to get to the end of the aisle to be holding his hand. ” ~ Sarah

Vic watched Sarah come towards him. “She took my breath away, she looked absolutely beautiful. ” ~ Vic

Vic was also completely thankful that Sarah was blissfully unaware of the fact  that the Best Man left the rings behind.  And completely relieved  that they were able to get them in time.

They said their I Do’s in a heartfelt ceremony and spent some time with their friends and family outside the chapel after the ceremony.

Sam and I then went about taking some portraits, which provided Sarah the opportunity for another favourite part of the day “finally looking into his eyes (so many times) while getting the photos done and seeing the sheer love and joy in Vic’s eyes was just beautiful” ~ Sarah

Back at Cedar Galleries, the reception began as soon as the happy couple arrived back to all their guests.  Being able to spend this time with those they love, was another big highlight for both Sarah and Vic.   ” I LOVED hearing all of the speeches and seeing everyone have so much fun at the reception, it made it all worthwhile.” ~ Sarah

Sarah couldnt be more proud or honoured, to call Vic her husband.  “He is my best friend, he makes me laugh and holds me when I cry and I can’t wait to spend forever with him!”

Being a wonderful husband, to Vic, means providing and supporting his wife Sarah and their two girls through all of life’s ups and all of it’s downs.  “My dream is simple, just to live happily together as a family with our two beautiful girls and share lots of precious moments.” ~ Vic

The couple honeymooned in Fiji.  We would like to wish you both an amazing future togther!  It was truly wonderful watching you become husband and wife!
